'The Peacock Dress'. Truly a collector's piece, I was so excited to find this work of art! Canary yellow base with blue and purple abstract watercolor "washes" throughout. Metallic polka dots are embroidered all over.
Fit and flare silhouette has lots of volume in the skirt pleats. Semi sheer long sleeves finished with the most gorgeous gold buttons. The neckline is styled as a cowl neck, but as you can see in the other photos there is an eye & hook closure that can be fastened for a more conservative look. Zip closure halfway down the back, fully lined.
ERA / 1970s
BRAND / The Connoisseur Suit for Saks Fifth Ave, made in England
MATERIAL / 92% Rayon, 8% Lurex
CONDITION / Great vintage condition with a few minor flaws to note. There are two tiny holes in the overlay, one is about 1/2 a centimeter long on the left bust side. This can be seen in the photo if you zoom. The other is half that size & is on the right. There are a few rust stains on the dress but are light and with all of the volume, are honestly not noticeable when the dress is being worn.
